It is important to me to give back to our local and national communities, with my time, as well as financially, as part of our business model.
Being in a position to be able to give back to others and also being able to see the difference it makes to someone adds meaning to what we do.
It is also important that my boys grow up with the understanding of the significance of giving to others, as well as being actively involved in our local community.
As a small business, we are proud of our giving back achievements.
Since we started ‘Project 14’ and ‘Leanne Baker Daily’ in 2016, the total in monetary and product donations to 2021 from our small businesses is in excess of $70,000.
Some of the causes and organisations that we have made donations to include (but are not limited to):
IMPACT Community Services, Bundaberg – 2021. I put a call out to our Leanne Baker Daily (LBD) community to find a cause or charity that our business could support in 2020 and a number of our community who are survivors of domestic violence shared about how the planners have helped them turn their world around. Knowing this, we couldn’t help but reach out and donate planners to IMPACT Community Services in Bundaberg, and aim to help as many people as possible – particularly after 2020 was such a difficult year for so many.
Red Cross Australia – In January 2020, I ran a Project 14 course and all profits went to the Australian bushfires appeal. $50,000 was raised and donated by our wonderful community.
Lord Mayor Distress Relief Fund – City of Perth (Bushfire Appeal. In February 2021, 100% of sales of LBD products over a period of days, were donated to the Perth Bushfire appeal. Over $4000 was donated.
Thank you to our beautiful LBD Community for supporting our giving back efforts. At LBD we are continually looking to give back.
